Other Ways to Get Involved
Forest bathing is an integral part of preventative health care in Japan. Shinrin-Yoku has been prescribed to enhance sleep quality and decrease stress as well as improve mood and cognitive functioning. Chronic stress and fatigue can lead to and exacerbate any number of physiological and psychological issues. It has been scientifically proven to lead to a healthier lifestyle in all age groups.
What does forest bathing entail? What if I am apprehensive about being in the woods? How do I enhance my experience? Are you sure this really works? Can’t I just walk down the street?
Being immersed in a natural environment filled with energy is distinctly different than being in a man-made, adulterated outdoor space. Just imagine a flower planted in unhealthy dirt versus a flower planted in healthy soil that is fully alive. The vibrant health and beauty is distinguishable. If you want to recharge the natural way and you are not sure how, let us show you the way.
In the forest, the ceremony of life happens beneath your feet and above your head.
Your spirit is reverently immersed in nature.
When rain droplets gently sprinkle the forest floor, essential oils bathe you in luxury.
You smell something new approaching in the distance.
When song birds sing sweet melodies to fill your heart, your attention is diverted.
You begin to hear answers to questions yet unspoken.
When the trees and mycelium weave vast networks of communication and connectivity,
You feel the call of the wild deep in your soul.
When passion flowers and wild berries produce sweet energy to sustain life,
You can remember the taste of what is meant to be.

The Friendship Bench:
The original concept was created in Zimbabwe for those suffering from anxiety and depression utilizing the power of engagement, and the wisdom of elders within the community. Our take on The Bench is to create a peaceful space where one can sit in solitude or engage with others to form connection in nature. On our Bench, isolation no longer exits. You belong to yourself, to nature and are an integral part of our community.
There is something magical about a simple bench nestled among trees and wildflowers—a place open to all who seek connection with nature and one another. Here, beneath open skies, transformation happens naturally as burdens grow lighter when shared with rustling leaves and gentle breezes. Minds find clarity not just through conversations, but through the wisdom of tall pines and the patient rhythm of the seasons.
On that bench, isolation dissolves as both strangers and friends find common ground in the beauty surrounding them. The birds don’t judge, the flowers don’t criticize—they simply exist alongside us, teaching that our imperfections make us part of nature’s perfect diversity.
Such a simple bench stands as a testament to what becomes possible when we step away from our screens and into the living world. Here, healing happens in the silent companionship of another person and the steady presence of nature itself.
Wisdom emerges not from having all the answers, but from the questions that arise when we observe a spider’s web catching morning light or contemplate the journey of a wandering cloud. As seasons change around that bench, the foundation remains—a simple seat among living things, creating a shelter where all are welcome, regardless of their journey, to pause and remember they belong to something greater than themselves.

Adirondack Chairs:
In 1903, the Westport Chair was developed by a Harvard graduate who dropped out of law school to devote his life to nature in the Adirondack Mountains. This sturdy, balanced and comfortable style of chair was perfect for the great outdoors, and quickly took hold in the healing community for those needing to recover in the fresh mountain air. In Canada, the Muskoka chair personifies the leisurely design of a summer vacation cottage.
The artist’s creative process is inseparable from the flow of their life, and the places where their art flows through. Even when delving into fantasy, let’s take J.R.R. Tolkien for instance, the events of World War II are interwoven into the fabric of the Lord of the Rings. Therefore, the imagination is not some other thing that we use to escape reality but rather to reapproach the empirical world with eyes filled with adventure, a mind washed with spiritual renewal.
We find ourselves on the road of our personal creative journeys, encountering universal nature with our sovereign voice. Where, then, does the artist end and the art begin? We are the crucible where the magic takes place, in communion with the space and time we’re in, harkening to the big bang of our history’s many tree rings, with eyes projected into the future, ever steering from the present moment.
Every place where the pen hits the paper, note meets the air, or theatricized bodies vicariously thrust us into drama, there, as Joseph Campbell spoke “Our heartbeat matches the heartbeat of nature”. How fitting when the artist embraces nature as their wellspring of inspiration. How ennobling to say “Mother, I’m returning home to co-create with you.
