Magic Pink Tea

by | Recipes

The Mimosa Tree, also known as The Persian Silk Tree, is not native to the United States but has been naturalized, especially across the southeast. During the summer, simply look around and you’ll see bright pink cotton candy looking flowers in bloom. In traditional herbalism, it is known as The Tree of Happiness and is supposed to calm your mind and spirit.

On a hot, lazy afternoon, pick a bucket full of flowers. Don’t be bashful, the flowers replenish themselves almost every day in abundance. At home, simmer water for at least 5 minutes to flush out the chemicals from the tap water. Then, fill a glass jar with the flowers and hot water.

Wait about 6-10 minutes and strain the flowers out. But wait, the tea is yellowish green!

Please do not worry, just grab your magic wand and a fresh lemon. Roll and press the lemon to burst open the tiny juice pockets inside. Then cut the lemon in half and squeeze into your tea.

Poof! The tea will instantly turn pink! Add pure, raw honey or agave to sweeten and enjoy the magic.
